The Ridgeon Group is one of the UK’s largest Timber and Builders Merchants with 26 branches across the East of England. The Group, which was purchased by Huws Gray in October 2018, incorporates Ridgeons Timber & Builders Merchants, PlumbStock, Anglia Tool Centre, Ridgeons Forest Products and CRS Wholesale.

The Challenge

In 2017 PLMR Genesis was tasked with delivering marketing communications for Ridgeons and its new offer PlumbStock to launch them online, drive sales from two sites and and build the group’s corporate reputation, including increasing local branch footfall.

The Solution

The strategy used SEO, digital advertising, PR and social media to drive website traffic and online sales and to engage local branches with customers and communities. Corporate PR built Ridgeons’ reputation and included writing award entries and organising media for new branch openings.

The Outcome

The digital campaign on Facebook and Google resulted in a 102% return-on-investment (ROI). PR achievements built value in the Ridgeons brand and business. They included winning many top industry awards run by Builders Merchants News and Builders Merchants Journal.
